Anthony Woodhouse spoke about the importance of supporting local people, saying:
“TeignMobility plays a vital role in helping people who find it difficult to get around. It’s a charity that really makes a difference in everyday life, and we’re pleased this support will help more people enjoy what Shaldon has to offer.”

Brian Hamblin highlighted the impact the new scooter will have locally:


“This scooter will help people living in or visiting Shaldon to stay active, independent and connected. It will enable them to get out, enjoy the beautiful views, and spend time in local places such as The Ness, meeting friends and being part of the community.”

Community Grant Helps TeignMobility Keep Shaldon Accessible for Everyone

TeignMobility is delighted to announce it has received a £1,500 grant from the Hall & Woodhouse Community Chest, enabling the charity to purchase a new mobility scooter for use by local residents and visitors.

The cheque was presented by Anthony Woodhouse Chairman of Hall & Woodhouse,  to Brian Hamblin, a Trustee of TeignMobility, at The Ness Hotel in Shaldon – a much-loved local hotel and restaurant run by Hall & Woodhouse and a valued part of the community.

Mayor of Teignmouth Presents £983 Donation to TeignMobility.

The cheque was presented by the Mayor of Teignmouth, Councillor Cate Williams, along with fellow councillors, to Brian Hamblin, Chair of the Trustees of TeignMobility, on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, before a council meeting.


TeignMobility was chosen as one of the Mayor’s nominated charities for her 2024/25 mayoral year.

Brian Hamblin thanked the Mayor and councillors for their support, saying the donation was “very generous” and would make the charity's operations much easier. He highlighted that TeignMobility relies heavily on volunteers to deliver its services to the community.
